Medium Wave Panel D2 - 40x20cm(16x8") on 2 oval feet

This glass panel illustrates a landscape seaside scenery with waves throughout using low relief and colours to accentuate the motion of waves and create a dramatic effect. Some parts of the panel are slightly translucent and sandblasted to let the light through when backlit or used as an ornament on the windowsill / shelf. You can also see the whitewash coming onto the beach, the seagulls in the sky, the colours of the sea are blue and turquoise, the feet are oval and blend into the design.

The front of the panel is textured and the back is smooth.

After completing his degree in Glass in 2002, Matthew worked for a large glass design company in London before setting up his own business in 2012. Matthew designs and makes everything in his studio in Dorset, on the south coast of the UK, near the Jurassic Coast. All the moulds are handcarved, he applies the colours manually and the glass is slumped over the mould in a kiln at temperatures over 800C and annealed to ensure strength and durability.
